Hi, I am Divya

I am a former international student,

a global citizen and an immigrant.

I founded Borderless with a mission

to help students all around the globe

with conscious and customized

Premium consulting services in

education and employability.

An idea that started in New Zealand

What began as personal guidance for students soon grew into a mission-driven platform focused on employability, confidence, and career growth.

Borderless was created to bridge the gap between education and real-world opportunities — helping students and professionals position themselves with clarity in competitive global markets.

Every strategy, template, and session is designed from lived experience, practical hiring insights, and real conversations with international students navigating uncertainty abroad.

“Being an immigrant, I could see the gaps in the system,

And I was motivated to build a bridge for others.”

- Divya Kataria, Founder of Borderless Consultants

What started as an idea in the middle of a global pandemic grew into a community of more than 100,000 people!

My vision for Borderless is to help simplify and streamline education overseas and employability.

Divya Kataria, Founder of Borderless Consultants

What started as an idea in the middle of a global pandemic grew into a community of more than 100,000 people!

My vision for Borderless is to help simplify and streamline education overseas and employability.

An idea that was born in the living room of a small house in windy Wellington.

As a former international student, I felt that there was a significant gap between international students and our awareness of the realities of life overseas. I saw the challenges, biases, and obstacles standing in the middle of my career. What started as a small project in the middle of a pandemic transformed into a community of more than 100,000 people.

Career and education cannot be narrowed down to a generic solution. Every story is different, and everyone has their own unique path to tread.

Borderless was founded to take an unconventional approach to education and employability consulting services. We want to make everyone feel that their struggles and challenges matter. Our goal is to remove that voice in your head that says you are not good enough!

My journey

My journey started as a young 17-year-old girl straight out of high school, who was ready to conquer the world.

2014

My step, my first defeat

I started studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in Lithuania. As the first Asian international student in their architecture faculty, I struggled to fit into the culture. I decided to move to New Zealand because of fewer language and cultural restrictions.

2016

A fresh start down under!

I started my bachelor's in construction engineering at the Auckland University of Technology. I realized my full potential with no language barriers, international education, and a collaborative study environment. I initiated the first international exchange program between AUT and CTU in Prague for engineering students.

2017 - 2018

A year fill of achievements!

I got elected as the International and Affairs Officer and later stepped into the role of President at the AUT Student Association. I addressed and represented over 25,000 students across national clubs and boards. I graduated with a First Class Honours and landed my first graduate role as an engineer with CPB Contractors. On the largest roading project in NZ -Transmission Gully.

2020

An innovative idea during a dark time.

I was lost, and it led me into depression and severe anxiety. I started taking therapy to focus on my mental health. The idea of Borderless started in my living room during the lowest time of my life. After getting stronger, I left my job and moved back to Auckland.

2021

Things are rolling..

I grew my community from 1589 to 10,000 followers by showcasing my journey. After briefly experimenting as a communications advisor, I landed a graduate design role, which I lost due to an extended lockdown. I picked myself up and landed my dream role at Watercare in less than 7 days.

2023

A decision to prioritise growth!

My community has grown to 100,000, and I have helped over 350 people in 17 countries. I launched the world’s first Interview Prep Academy to help people globally with interview skills. I left my dream job to focus on work-life balance and travelled to Japan and India for 2 months.

And now I have recently moved to the southernmost part of the world to start another journey as a Team Leader.

“Every journey is one of a kind, filled with its unique challenges. Borderless is a medium for me to express my passion for helping people.”

As an international student and an immigrant, I have seen the gaps and barriers in support needed by our community. The choice of choosing a degree and a career is not easy, and I understand the overwhelm associated with life-altering decisions, but the most important lesson that I have learnt is that “It’s okay to make mistakes!” Borderless has allowed me to empower and facilitate a mindset shift around the globe. I am grateful for the support extended by 100,000, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Borderless.
